This large addition added 5,400 square feet to an existing branch. The Hockley Count Credit Union team and Staywood’s designer wanted to ensure a seamless transition from the old space to the addition when viewing the building from the outside. The new space will allow for HCCU’s future growth both in business and their staff.

Aesthetically, the team’s wishes were to modernize their in-branch experience while maintaining the comfortable feel that their members always noted valuing. There was also a desire to optimize efficiency with the function of their work spaces. To ensure this, modern designed teller pods, a formal reception desk and new office furniture will be incorporated. 

From a transactional approach, there was a need to be able to easily service their wide range of members. It isn’t uncommon for their drive-thru to receive pickups, oil trucks, and school buses. Durable and easy to clean flooring was also incorporated in high traffic areas to ensure the space will look pristine for years to come.

One of the most unique features of the new structure is a mosaic on the exterior near the main entrance. The heritage of Hockley County is strong and Levelland has claimed the title of “The City of Mosaics”. The staff of the institution were thrilled to have a chance to be home to fantastic art piece for their community. The Staywood team worked closely with a local mosaic artist to ensure the specs for the designated space would structurally support the large piece but also protect it from exterior elements.
